Biography
Chaz Bundick laid the groundwork for the chillwave genre through his work as Toro y Moi, issuing a string of singles and albums that commenced with the 2009 release "Blessa." Concurrently, his affinity for dance music found expression via the Les Sins moniker. Bundick put out the 2009 Carpark single "Lina"/"Youth Gone" before devoting the bulk of his attention to Toro y Moi. He revived the Les Sins project in 2012, partnering with Jiaolong Records to issue a pair of house-infused 12" singles: "Fetch"/"Take" that year and "Grind"/"Prelim" the following year. Les Sins returned to the Carpark fold for the 2014 debut full-length Michael, which appeared on the newly established subsidiary label Company toward the end of that year.
