Biography
Vocalist Les Taylor spent his formative years in central Kentucky. His major opportunity arrived in 1980 when fellow Kentuckians Exile, riding the momentum of their chart-topping single “I Want to Kiss You All Over,” recruited him to serve as their new contributing lead singer and rhythm guitarist. He remained with the ensemble through most of the ensuing decade before departing in 1989 to launch a solo trajectory. The resulting debut album, “Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda,” generated modest commercial traction, while its follow-up, That Old Desire, achieved limited chart impact. In 1991 he released Blue Kentucky Wind, which included a duet with Shelby Lynne yet failed to generate significant attention. During the mid to late ’90s Taylor rejoined forces with Exile founder J.P. Pennington, and together they revisited the nostalgia circuit backed by a reconstituted ensemble.
