Biography
After departing Tool in 1995, ahead of the group's release of its groundbreaking Ænima, Paul D'Amour kept creating music through outfits such as Lusk and then stepped back from public view for an extended period. He had been developing solo material under the name Feersum Ennjin in relative seclusion, yet his work with Lesser Key brings him back to a collaborative format whose textures recall his earlier art-metal explorations. The lineup consists of D'Amour, singer Andrew Zamudio, guitarist Brett Fanger, and drummer Justin Hanson, and the quartet ventures into the atmospheric outer reaches of rock. Lesser Key joined Sumerian Records in 2013 and introduced its first single, "Intercession," on the self-titled EP produced by Sylvia Massey that arrived the following year.
