Level C

Level C, an all-female alternative metal band based in Cleveland, Ohio, came together in 2002. Their style recalled the mid-’90s wave of female-fronted metal acts, most directly echoing Drain S.T.H. while sharing sonic traits with grungier metal groups and other ’90s bands of the same stripe. After sharpening their material through steady live work and repeated refinement, the quartet—Christine Maynard on vocals, Christina Crago on guitar, Janean Marie Buch on bass, and Misty Everson on drums—signed with Locomotive Records. In partnership with Ryko, the label issued the group’s first full-length album, also titled Level C, in 2008.
