Biography
Drawing from the sound of richly textured neo-psychedelic rock groups that favor soaring high vocals, the Philadelphia/New Jersey-area outfit Like a Fox features former Lenola participants Jay Laughlin on guitar and vocals, Dave Grubb on guitar and keyboard, and Jeff Scioli on guitar and keyboard, completed by Brian Wilkinson on bass and Pete Girgenti on drums. After the 2002 dissolution of the noise-pop band Lenola, Laughlin began sketching material that fused rock with electronic textures. The full lineup had already coalesced by 2004, enabling the songs to be played in live settings well before any studio work occurred. Sessions started in the first part of 2005, and the resulting debut album, issued under the band's own name, appeared in the middle of 2006.
