Biography
A Toronto-based performer who developed an affinity for music in childhood has spent numerous years playing venues in the bar scene. Accompanied solely by her acoustic guitar in most instances, Lilia delivers roots rock reminiscent of Sheryl Crow and Bonnie Raitt. Her first record, Perhaps, came out in 1998. The following year brought appearances at several industry events, among them the North by Northeast Festival held in Toronto. She has composed instrumental music for stage productions and dance works, which found presentation at the Summer Works Theatre Festival as well as the Fringe Festival of Independent Dance. Returning to the recording studio in 2001, she prepared her next album, Radio Friendly, issued in 2002 via BigBug Music. Canadian college radio outlets have embraced her work enthusiastically.
