Limbs arose in 2013 as a Tampa Bay, Florida post-hardcore outfit whose sound fuses abrasive guitar textures, rapid percussive assaults, and spectral sonic layers. The group progressed from local agitators to the first U.S. act to join the Australian independent UNFD, a noted home for heavy music. Assembled that same year under an earlier name, the band navigated repeated membership adjustments before locking in its central roster of vocalist Chris Costanza, drummer Daniel Nelson, bassist Josh Kowalski, and guitarists Jordan Hunter and Tyler Martin. Their opening release, the EP Admissions, surfaced in 2014; two years later came Sleep, produced by Underoath guitarist Tim McTague and issued on Equal Vision Records. In 2018 the quartet signed with the Aussie hardcore label UNFD—also home to Northlane and In Hearts Wake—and unveiled its first full-length album, Father’s Son, helmed by Saosin guitarist Beau Burchell.
