Biography
Lion Fever hails from Portland, OR, where singer and guitarist Jennifer Pearl joins bassist David Clifford and drummer Kevin Garrison in the lineup. During summer 2002 Clifford, already drumming with Pleasure Forever after earlier stints in the VSS, Slaves, and Jim Sclavunos & the Vanity Set, reached out to Pearl, who had previously performed with the Lost Kids, to start a new project. The two recruited Garrison on drums, leaving Clifford to handle bass, after which the freshly named Lion Fever began developing a sound that fused blues, 1960s garage, punkabilly, and additional brooding, forceful approaches, drawing primary inspiration from PJ Harvey and the Gun Club. In 2003 the group entered the studio to track its first EP, Lustre, issued by Dim Mak at the start of 2004.
