Biography
b. Lisa Barbuscia, USA. After training at the New York School of Music and the Performing Arts, the institution portrayed in the Fame television series, Barbuscia secured a modelling contract at seventeen and was subsequently signed to ffrr Records, the dance imprint of London Records. That label paired her with high-profile producers including Mike McEvoy of Soul II Soul, Paul Oakenfold and Gianfranco Bortolotti from Italy’s Media team. The tracks that emerged, among them the 1993 single ‘Fascinated’, leaned heavily toward pop and struck many listeners as lacking genuine dancefloor roots. ffrr struggled to establish the credibility of the onetime model within club circles, a task further complicated by her liaison with the Marquess of Cholmondeley, thirtieth in line to the British throne.
