Aurélie Nguyen, a Vietnamese-heritage singer and songwriter working in the French alternative vein, issued her first full-length album in 2008 through Source Inc. She first attracted notice on MySpace by posting early demo tracks that drew a substantial audience. Those recordings later circulated both digitally and as a mail-order CD, prompting Source Inc—home to respected French alternative acts such as Yelle and Rose—to extend her a contract. The resulting self-titled album Little appeared that year and spotlighted the promotional single “Je Veux des Violons.” It entered the Top 100 of the French albums chart and earned favorable critical notices.
