Biography
In 2005 Toby Pipes, the Dallas musician who reached widespread fame in 1993 as the voice of Deep Blue Something’s Top Ten single “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” joined forces with fellow local veteran Nolan Thies to launch the Texas indie rock band Little Black Dress. The lineup was completed by guitarists Brent Elrod and Taylor Tatsch, drummer Earl Darling, and electric drummer/keyboardist Cooper Heffley; together they produced large-scale pop tracks echoing the classic shoegaze, synth-pop, and Brit-pop sounds of My Bloody Valentine, Depeche Mode, Catherine Wheel, Cabaret Voltaire, and Swervedriver, issuing their first full-length album, Snow in June, via Exploding Plastic/Idol Records in 2009.
