Stumbling upon Little Buster's first Bullseye Blues album in 1995 might well have prompted the query, "Where's this guy been all this time?" For the preceding three decades the blind guitarist had been offering his soul-steeped blues approach across his adopted base of Long Island, NY, together with his group the Soul Brothers. Edward "Little Buster" Forehand entered the world on September 28, 1942, in Hereford, NC. At sixteen he exited the North Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind, headed to New York, and promptly gained entry to the area's R&B circuit. His output during the 1960s stayed minimal, highlighted by the 1967 Jubilee single "Young Boy Blues" written by Doc Pomus. Broader recognition of his firm hold on the soul and blues vocabularies arrived only with the 1995 appearance of Right on Time!, which surfaced on the current scene as an unforeseen gust of renewal. Looking for a Home came next in 1997. Although further recordings have remained scarce, he has kept up steady touring at clubs and festivals worldwide.
