Biography
Vocalist Little Nikki, born Nicole Shortland and based in London, England, first appeared as one-third of the teen pop trio SoundGirl. The group produced a lone U.K. charting single, “Don’t Know Why,” and supported Justin Bieber as well as Pixie Lott before splitting up. Once the trio dissolved, Nikki struck out alone and, still only 16, surfaced at the tail end of 2011 with the buoyant dance-pop track “Intro Intro,” a cut that carried a noticeably lighter and more liberated feel than her prior group material. Two years later she issued the lively pop-EDM single “Little Nikki Says” via Sony; the track entered the U.K. singles chart, and its video had logged more than 700,000 YouTube views by the close of October.
