Biography
A blues outfit came together in Chicago, Illinois, back in 1988 and soon earned a firm local following through its energetic, crowd-pleasing style. In addition to topping bills at the city’s blues venues, the group backed a steady stream of out-of-town artists, among them Charlie Musslewhite, Jerry Portnoy, Duke Robillard, and Jimmy Rogers. Further travels took the band across the United States and, during the late 1990s and early 2000s, to the UK, where reviewers responded with enthusiasm. Almost every number in the repertoire originated within the group, penned by guitarist and vocalist Kevin McCann, harmonica player and vocalist Dave Holtzman, bassist Pat Foley, and drummer Adam Stranburg. This ensemble is not to be mistaken for the blues group Red Rooster.
