Biography
Originating from Dallas, Loco Gringos delivered punk rock infused with a sarcastic edge, setting them apart from more extreme Texas acts like the Butthole Surfers and the Hickoids in how they altered the genre. During their existence, the sole output came in the form of the 1987 7" single titled "Nurture My Pig," which the Reverend Horton Heat would later cover while also honoring the band through the track "Loco Gringos Like a Party." An untimely conclusion arrived via the passing of vocalist Tom Foote on June 16, 1990. Posthumously released in 1992, their only album arrived as a self-titled effort, followed by a 2006 CD reissue that incorporated additional live recordings.
