Biography
Log Variations emerged in 2021 as an unusual fusion of sound collage, field recording, and experimental electronic music, taking shape as a mixed-media endeavor centered solely on the essence of logs, forestry, and woodcraft across multiple expressions. Its creations extend from altered campfire audio captures to still images and moving footage showcasing striking piles of firewood alongside additional wood-centric activities.
In both sonic and visual formats, the project centers on celebrating logs and the surrounding culture. The debut offering, a four-track cassette EP, surfaced in early 2021 and consisted of four minimal pieces of comparable duration, each built around an identical crackling fire sample and enriched with unexpected, frequently psychedelic layers, sonic effects, and analog synthesizer elements.
