Biography
Lone Taxidermist serves as Natalie Sharp's outlet for left-field pop, where her commanding voice, sharp-tongued songwriting, and theatrical stage presence evoke Diamanda Galas, Siouxsie Sioux, and X-Ray Spex's Poly Styrene. Based in London, Sharp works as a makeup artist and skin decorator whose roster has featured Jenny Hval, Gazelle Twin, Vogue Magazine, and Google; she first gained experience playing in the chamber pop outfit the Bottomfeeders before launching her solo endeavor toward the end of the 2000s. Through tracks like the 2013 release "S.L.A.G.," she refined an extravagant electro-pop aesthetic that extended to her visual presentation. For the project's first album, she enlisted Phil Winter of Tuung and Wrangler along with Hjordis Moon Badford and Will Kwerk, convening at Ben Edwards' Bodwin Moor studio. After the advance single "Knicker Elastic," the album Trifle arrived via Memetune in 2017.
