Biography
Born in New York, USA, Clarke began performing vocals in Harlem church choirs, subsequently collaborating with Luther Vandross in Listen My Brother before launching a solo career. Her debut release appeared in 1981 on West End Records and yielded a modest dance success with ‘Let’s Go Dancing’. Re-entering music in the 1990s, she reached the UK Top 40 via ‘Rushing’ and scored another hit with ‘U’, written and produced by Lem Springsteen and John Ciafone. Now on A&M Records, the single received club remixes from Mood II Swing and K Klass.
