Biography
Legendary James A. Cleveland assembled the Los Angeles Gospel Messengers in autumn 1982, drawing young vocalists from congregations across the greater L.A. region. The newly formed ensemble stepped onto the stage for the first time on January 31, 1983, and issued its self-titled debut album in the months that followed. After Cleveland’s passing on February 9, 1991, the group continued its work, commemorating its founder with the live album We Haven’t Forgotten You.
