Specializing in norteño music, the regional Mexican outfit Los Herederos de Nuevo León formed in Monterrey, Nuevo León. The quartet unites Lalo Mora, Jr., Javier Rios, Jr., C. Eliud Lopez, Jr., and Homero de Leon, Jr., each the offspring of Lalo Mora, Javier Ríos, Eliud López, and Homero de Leon from the storied norteño ensemble Los Invasores de Nuevo León, whose roots stretch to the 1970s. Their first full-length release, Normas a la Mitad, appeared on Serca Music in 2004, followed by the same imprint’s Que Te Quede Claro in 2005, the concert set Los Herederos de Nuevo León en Vivo: Desde Zuazuz Arena in 2007, and Llegando a Ti in 2008, whose single “Tres Vueltas” became a hit. Although earlier singles had registered on the charts, the 2009 album En Manos del Tiempo finally propelled the group into the Mexican Regional Top 10 via the track “Palabra de Borracho.” An extensive trek across Mexico and the United States ensued, paving the way for the further charting singles “Quisiera” in 2010 and “El Que Se Va” in 2011. Issued that same year, No Decidas por Mi caught longtime listeners off guard with fresh material and yielded the title song as another hit. The subsequent effort, 2012’s A Partir de Ahora, failed to match that peak yet still earned substantial airplay and reached the Top 20. A live recording and a tenth-anniversary anthology came next. In 2015 Corridos de Caballos Pura Sangre placed inside the Top 20 of the Latin albums charts, and the following January the band returned with the new studio collection Ayer Hoy y Siempre.
