Biography
Fronted by Erick Lemus, who handles both vocals and guitar, the Mexican alternative outfit Los Optimistas stands out for a distinctive sound that merges pop/rock, heavy metal, post-grunge, and Afro-American rhythms. The project emerged among the many new acts that surfaced across Mexico in the late 1990s, spurred by the worldwide embrace of Latin rock.
