Los Tiranos Del Norte

Originally from Baja California, los Tiranos del Norte featured lead vocalist and bajosexto player Gustavo Cota alongside second vocalist Juan Luis Montaño, accordionist Omar Velazco, guitarist Luis "Memo" Bernal, bassist Ricardo Carrasco, and percussionist Daniel Morales. The ensemble joined the Fonovisa roster and launched its career via a self-titled 1992 album, with subsequent releases that included Para Mi Reina in 1994, Inolvidables in 1995, and Con Sangre Nortena in 1996. The following year the group moved to Sony International and delivered De la Tierra al Cielo there; El Sol appeared in 1998.
