Biography
Formed in Lille during 1986, Loudblast joined Kickback as one of the rare French thrash metal acts able to move beyond national borders. Their hybrid approach blended thrash with death metal, evident in a faithful rendition of Slayer’s “Mandatory Suicide” from the 1988 album South of Heaven as well as a later onstage reunion supporting Chuck Schuldiner. From the close of the 1980s onward, Loudblast maintained a steady output of recordings whose consistent caliber secured the group a modest but devoted following inside France.
