Biography
Chicago native Louis Price launched a singing career only after relocating to Los Angeles, where Motown founder Berry Gordy discovered the vocalist. The encounter led to a spot on the Motown 30th Anniversary television broadcast, after which Price joined the label as a solo act. Several well-crafted soul singles emerged from these efforts, yet inadequate distribution and promotion kept them from registering on the charts. His self-titled 1991 debut contained strongly delivered ballads that nonetheless failed to connect with listeners.
