Lourdes

Born on April 2, 1982, Lourdes Fernandez developed proficiency on keyboards and guitar alongside her vocal training while growing up in Argentina, though her singing voice first attracted notice in her home country. In 2001 she was selected, via a Popstars talent search modeled on American Idol, as one of five young women to comprise the group Bandana. The five-piece ensemble remained intact for three years and issued two commercially successful albums, Bandana and Noche, before disbanding in 2004. Lourdes, who had been fondly nicknamed the “short one” during her Bandana tenure, moved promptly into solo work; that same year she released her debut, the electronic-driven pop album Televisivamente, which was followed in 2007 by De Otro Mundo.
