Biography
Lourds Lane, who founded LOURDS and serves as its frontwoman and namesake, trained on classical violin and French horn from an early age yet felt little attachment to the conventions of that repertoire. During adolescence she assembled a rock group in which she performed on electric violin, mandolin, and rhythm guitar while also supplying the lead vocals. Although the band’s roster evolved over subsequent years, the musicians who gathered for their first full-length recording were Lane, Gene Blank on electric guitar, Sarah Vasil on drums, and Joey Sagarese on bass. Ed Stasium produced the resulting self-titled album, issued in 2006.
