Hailing from Canada, Lowell works as an indie pop singer and songwriter out of Toronto. Elizabeth Lowell Boland entered the world in Calgary and journeyed extensively throughout Canada along with the United States prior to settling at the University of Toronto. Upon departing from her studies in pursuit of her artistic calling, Ron Sexsmith's manager Michael Dixon learned of her talents and forwarded her recordings to the Swedish producer Martin Terefe. Her journey to London for a collaboration with Terefe on personal material led him to enlist her talents for his European supergroup project Apparatjik. This effort yielded the EP titled If You Can, Solve This Jumble, which came out in 2012. Through this association, Lowell gained exposure to a wide global listenership by performing with the ensemble across Europe. Early in 2014, her initial EP I Killed Sara V. came forth under Terefe's production. Later in that same year, her debut full-length album We Loved Her Dearly appeared via the Canadian independent label Arts + Crafts.
