Lowercase

Guitarist Imaad and drummer Brian formed the core of the avant-garde ensemble Lowercase after first connecting amid the early-1990s California desert, where they discovered a shared taste for lo-fi, unhurried, and tuneful material. The pair soon relocated to San Francisco, where they began cycling through bassists and imprints. Their debut arrived as All Destructive Urges Seems So Perfect in 1996, followed by Kill the Lights on Minneapolis-based Amphetamine Reptile. Lowercase continued refining its slowcore and minimalist approach with the dark Going-Away Present, issued on Punk in My Vitamins and containing one track that stretches to twelve minutes.
