Luhh Dyl draws listeners in with an unhurried, stretched-out delivery that echoes familiar rap cadences, yet the beats beneath his verses distinguish him by pairing standard 808 patterns with unexpected vintage samples pulled from obscure corners. Recognized as one of Detroit’s rising lyricists, he has drawn notice through cuts such as “Lalala” and “Ski” alongside his 2024 project Cart Music.

Born and raised in the Motor City as Dylan Martin, he grew up under the care of a single mother and turned to hip-hop during difficult periods, trading improvised rhymes with family and peers throughout high school until he booked studio sessions following the loss of a close cousin. He stepped onto the scene in 2023 via the independent release The Ticket, which stirred local interest and led him to feature North Carolina’s rising talent Hunxho on the 2024 single “Thank You.”

That collaboration foreshadowed greater momentum when the subsequent viral track “Lalala” marked his debut under the Warner-affiliated imprint 300 Entertainment. Both “Lalala” and the sharply paced, favorably received “Go Missin”—retitled from its original “Carlee Russell” reference once the real-life abduction story was revealed as fabricated—appeared on Cart Music, while additional standalone offerings such as “Ski” and “Penny Pinchin” surfaced the same year.
