Luis Cobos

Drawing upon his extensive training in classical traditions, Luis Cobos shifted his focus in 1982 toward serving as a freelance conductor. This path took him across the globe, where he crafted orchestral versions for numerous performers such as Julio Iglesias and Plácido Domingo. His collaborations extended to ensembles like the Royal Philharmonic, the Symphonic Orchestra of Moscow, and the Symphonic Orchestra of Brussels. His output has been remarkably extensive, garnering more than 50 platinum certifications across multiple nations and achieving sales exceeding 10 million records internationally. Particularly notable among his endeavors are two recordings that offer symphonic renditions of modern and traditional Mexican compositions: Mexicano, issued by CBS Records in 1995, and Viva México, put out by Universal Music Latino in 2000.
