Lummox

Murray Acton, having set aside his earlier stage name Cretin while serving as guitarist and lead vocalist, teamed up with drummer John London and bassist Merrick Atkinson to launch Lummox toward the close of 1994. Sharing their origins in Victoria, Canada, alongside the Dayglow Abortions, the trio channeled a blunt yet sincere strain of booze-soaked punk that paid homage to D.O.A. The Dayglow Abortions-operated imprint God Records later issued the group’s debut full-length, Natural Born Swillers, in 1996.
