Lyd

Emerging from Los Angeles in the late '60s, the little-known group Lyd fused the dominant psychedelic and garage rock currents of that period with the emerging hard rock approach that would gain traction throughout the following decade. The lineup featured Jack Linerly on guitar and vocals, Frank Tag handling guitar, piano, and vocals, Rob Weisenberg on bass and vocals, and Chet Desmark at the drums. Lyd produced just one recording, a self-titled 1970 mini-album that never saw an official release; instead, bandmembers personally passed a handful of acetates from those sessions along to independent labels, which in turn elevated the work to a highly coveted collector's item.
