Biography
In 1980 Vanguard put out Lyn Todd’s sole documented full-length, guided by the hand of Bobby Orlando, an emerging disco powerhouse who performed the bulk of the instruments and supplied nearly all the songs. That Lyn Todd album fuses robust ’70s rock with the first stirrings of Hi-NRG. Orlando promptly founded his own O Records label, which soon housed Divine, the Flirts, and additional acts. Sax-blowing keyboardist Mamie Frances and guitarist Geoff Lipp, both members of Lyn Todd’s group, also appeared alongside New York punk bands Arthur’s Dilemma, Peroxide, and Now.
