Biography
Mpath unites producers Markus Mitchell and Gardner Cole in a project that merges Indian classical and folk traditions with Western melodic lines and understated pop touches. Mitchell brings extensive experience creating worldbeat albums, while Cole contributes several solo releases plus a string of pop successes, chief among them Madonna’s “Open Your Heart.” Their debut album, Meeting Rivers, arrived in 2002 and included performances by renowned sarangi player Ramesh Misra, violinist Lili Haydn, and sitar player Indrajit Banerjee. The follow-up Mpath release, Wanderer, came out the next year.
