Magic Lady

Originating in Detroit, the female vocal trio Magic Lady first gained experience supplying background vocals for Enchantment, Shirley Caesar, Bob Seger, Keith Barrow, and the Soul Searchers before obtaining a recording contract with A&M in 1978. Linda Stokes, wife of Michael Stokes, served as the driving force in assembling the group. They released one album on A&M and another on Motown, the second of which appeared in 1982, yet neither achieved notable commercial success. The lineup consisted of Linda Stokes, Jackie Steele, and Kimberly Ball.
