Biography

In 2011, Damon Palermo—the drummer for Mi Ami—launched into DJ sets and studio work, crafting skewed dance tracks that wove together house, techno, and rave under the Magic Touch moniker. That year also saw the project’s first outing on wax, the single “I Can Feel the Heat,” issued via the sympathetic Los Angeles imprint 100% Silk. Two more joint 12-inches followed on the same label in 2012: “Just Wanna Feel” with Sapphire Feels and “Anywhere You Want Me” with Ital. Palermo then turned to Germany’s True Romance for the Nothing More EP in 2013. He returned to 100% Silk for Magic Touch’s first proper album, Palermo House Gang, which surfaced in early 2014. Built around contributions from Sorcerer, Newbody, Ash Williams, and Octo Octa, the set pulses with reverence for classic house.
