Biography
Malcolm Burn, a Canadian émigré now based in New Orleans, has long drawn deep inspiration from the atmospheric approach of Daniel Lanois. Their first encounter occurred during Burn’s tenure with the early-’80s Canadian glam band Boys Brigade, though the exchange remained fleeting at the time. Years afterward Lanois invited him to New Orleans to assist in shaping the solo album Acadie. Burn’s distinctive ethereal imprint has since appeared on Shawn Colvin’s “Sunny Came Home” and John Mellancamp’s Human Wheels.
