Biography
Manslaughter 777 originated as an electronic side project launched by percussionists Lee Buford of the Body and Zac Jones, whose other affiliations include Braveyoung and MSC. Their first effort, the 2021 album World Vision Perfect Harmony, ventures through layered rhythms and sampled textures while pulling influence from dub, trip-hop, jungle, and additional styles.
Earlier joint work between the Body and Braveyoung produced the 2011 album Nothing Passes, after which Jones contributed to the Body and Uniform’s 2019 release Everything That Dies Someday Comes Back. The Body and MSC likewise joined forces for the 2020 record I Dont Ever Want to Be Alone. Buford and Jones tracked World Vision Perfect Harmony—their initial Manslaughter 777 outing—at Machines with Magnets studio in Rhode Island, assisted by engineer and mixer Seth Manchester, before Thrill Jockey issued the album in March 2021.
