Mantric

Formed in 2007, the Norwegian progressive metal group Mantric arose when vocalist/guitarist Tor Magne Glidje, guitarist Ole Halvard Sveen, and bassist John Robert Mjåland decided to proceed after their main band, the respected Christian experimental metal outfit Extol, announced an indefinite hiatus. The same three musicians had previously joined forces in the black metal project Lengsel. Once drummer Kim Akerholdt and “soundscaper” Anders Salomon Lidal came aboard, the lineup promptly began writing material that became the debut album The Descent, issued in 2010 by Prosthetic Records.
