Marala

Colombian vocalist Marala, born Maria Adelaida Agudelo, first built a professional path in journalism before shifting her focus to music on a full-time basis. Her opening solo project, Por Aqui, blends romantic balladry with pop and tropical textures while also incorporating selections performed in both English and French. The album’s initial charting entry, the Latin Top 40 success “Quiero Tenerte,” delivers a vallenato-pop energy that echoes fellow Colombians Carlos Vives and Fonseca.
