Biography
Born in Paris during 1957, guitarist Marc Ducret took up music as a self-taught player and started performing with diverse ensembles, encompassing dance and folk styles, while also contributing to studio sessions prior to turning twenty. His entry into the first French National Jazz Orchestra occurred in 1986. Throughout the closing years of the 1980s, he directed a personal trio that journeyed across Europe, Africa, and Asia. Beginning in 1991, Ducret collaborated with Tim Berne, appearing alongside him in the groups Caos Totale, Bloodcount, and Big Satan. Multiple solo albums by Ducret have appeared on the Screwgun label, owned by Berne, in addition to Winter & Winter. During the late 1990s, he assembled the tentet Seven Songs with the aim of investigating 1960s music.
