Venezuelan-born and New York-based flutist Marco Granados weaves his passions for classical, folk, and jazz traditions throughout a multifaceted career that spans teaching, recording, and both solo and ensemble performances. His efforts have notably elevated the visibility of Latin and Latin American repertoire through the co-founding of the Amerigo Ensemble and Camerata Latinoamericana, alongside appearances with Peru’s Philharmonic Orchestra of Lima and Venezuela’s Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra, among numerous other ensembles.

Education and instruction form equally central threads in his professional life. Granados trained at Juilliard, earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the Mannes College of Music, and pursued specialized study with flutists James Galway and Jean-Pierre Rampal. He later served as artist-in-residence at Northwestern University in Chicago while maintaining a private studio in New York. He also belongs to Horizon Concerts, an organization committed to bringing classical music to students, senior citizens, underserved communities, and patients in hospitals and hospices. His first solo album, Sunflute, appeared in 1999.
