Born in Miami to parents of Puerto Rican and Cuban heritage, Mariah Angeliq creates reggaeton, trap, and R&B as a singer whose style revives the commanding presence once associated with figures like her idol Ivy Queen. Multi-platinum producer Nely, also known as El Arma Secreta, discovered her, and media outlets have since described her as the representative voice for an emerging wave of Latin talent across the United States. She has appeared at SXSW and the Calle 8 Festival while contributing to tracks alongside Nicky Jam, Myke Towers, and Casper Magico. Her first release for Universal Latino, the 2019 single “Perreito,” surpassed one million streams in its opening week, and the accompanying video accumulated millions of views within months.
