Biography
Born in the United States, Harris has logged more than twenty years in popular music while remaining comparatively obscure. The bulk of her career unfolded out of public view inside radio and television facilities, where she wrote arrangements, created original material, and supplied background vocals for other performers. Work demands repeatedly postponed her own projects, yet she finally launched a solo album in 1983 and finished it a decade afterward. Every track on the record was written either independently or with co-writers, revealing both a deep familiarity with pop’s established lineage and an alertness to current production approaches. Subtle blues inflections occasionally surface beneath the polished surface. Her singing is bright and tuneful, and she also demonstrates considerable facility on keyboards, supplying her own accompaniment with precision and energy.
