Mark Austin

Growing up in Dallas, Mark Austin absorbed the sounds of Chicago and Jaco Pastorious throughout his early years, forming a distinct sense of the music he hoped to produce. He gathered several musicians who shared his outlook and formed a band devoted to a rock/acid jazz hybrid, one that channels the unpredictable harmonies and abrupt sonic changes of the jazz component to intensify the drive of the rock foundation. After sustained songwriting across 2001, he captured and issued Cosmic Trigger the next summer through Celestrial Studios.
