Mark Battles

Mark Battles emerged in the mid-2000s as a gritty, plainspoken rapper and producer based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Influences ranging from LL Cool J, 2Pac, Eminem, and DMX to many additional artists helped shape his early work, yet he quickly carved out a personal voice. His inaugural mixtape, Good Morning America, surfaced in 2011. Within several years the Fly America label issued a growing catalog that encompassed the Saturday School series, Broken Silence alongside King Los, and Black Einstein. Numb followed in 2015, marking his most visible project to date and entering Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart at number 39 that October. Before the Deal, released the next year, reached number 15 on the Heatseekers chart. In 2017 he joined Canadian hip-hop artist Torey Lanez for the project Day 2.
