Mark Mangold, recognized for both talent and productivity, has collaborated with Fiona, Benny Mardones, and Wayne Newton. Hailing from Florida, his first recognition arrived in the 1970s as keyboardist for the Long Island groups Valhalla and American Tears. That band later became Touch. Throughout the 1980s he supported Michael Bolton on the vocalist’s initial pair of albums and joined him in writing Cher’s 1987 hit “I Found Someone.” Blues excursions paired him with Al Pitrelli inside Flesh & Blood, while his main creative engine remains Drive, She Said. The 1990s brought an alliance with fellow Long Island figure Randy Jackson of Zebra; together they launched the non-group Sign. He also issued Mirror Image through his Indigo Records imprint, a solo project steeped in new age philosophies and textures that coincided with his authorship of the book The New Faith. Soundtracks and a second solo album occupied him once the new century began. Another venture, Mystic Healer, incorporates material composed with Canadian legend Aldo Nova.
