Biography
Electronic producer, instrumentalist, and DJ Marley Carroll launched his professional path at seventeen after claiming the Best Scratch DJ title in a North Carolina competition held in his home state. Drawing on classical piano and percussion training alongside a growing fascination with electronic production, he devoted the following five years to composing, tracking, and refining his studio skills, which culminated in the 2007 release of his debut album Melanaster. Shaped by classic shoegaze and early-2000s IDM, Carroll continued working from his Asheville, North Carolina facility, issuing an assortment of singles, EPs, and remixes that fused dubstep and glitch textures with melancholic indie pop. Progressing further, he emerged as a vocalist and stage performer, joining tours alongside kindred electronic acts including Dabrye and Shigeto. In 2013 he delivered his second studio album, Sings.
