Biography
Following the 1967 breakup of Jack London and the Sparrows, Dennis Edmonton adopted the stage name Mars Bonfire. As a solo act his only charting singles turned out to be “Ride with Me Baby” and “Faster than the Speed of Life.” His most enduring achievement came as a songwriter when he supplied Steppenwolf with “Born to Be Wild,” an early landmark among heavy metal anthems.
