Biography
Martin Bartlett, spanning the years 1939 to 1993, composed from a West Coast base and joined forces with Pauline Oliveros and David Tudor, both of whom worked as composers and performers, though wider notice of his output remained regrettably limited. Burning Water captures his deep engagement with interactive electronics, in which he coded computers and synthesizers alike to respond instantaneously to musicians in live settings.
